About Lucinda
Lucinda Watson has worked as a teacher, a healer, a volunteer, a naturalist guide, a storyteller, and a board member of a few nonprofits, sometimes all at once. Watson worked for more than 10 years at the Haas School of Business, teaching communication skills to the MBA population and recruiting business leaders to speak at Haas. Prior to working at Haas, she taught at San Francisco State University and the University of San Francisco. She is now a full-time poet and teaches online poetry classes for older writers. She devotes the rest of her time to volunteering with kids in local schools and supporting causes dedicated to women and children.
Lucinda’s first book of poetry, The Favorite, was published by Golden Antelope Press and appeared on Book Riot’s list of “5 Moving Memoirs in Verse By Amazing Women”. Her poetry has been published in Poet Lore, The Louisville Review, SWWIM, White Wall Review, The Healing Muse, Jelly Bucket, The Round, The Stickman Review, Lindenwood Review, Penman Review, Pomona Valley Review, and others, and she was nominated in 2017 by Jelly Bucket for a Pushcart Prize. Lucinda was named an International Merit Award winner in Atlanta Review’s 2026 International Poetry Competition. She is listed in Poets & Writers.
